One of 20 young American leaders chosen to live and work in Germany for one year, and meet with European leaders and power brokers in major European cities. Worked with Westdeutcher Rundfunk (WDR) in Cologne, and Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich (Spring 2010). Notably selected by WDR to cover President Obama’s Nobel peace prize acceptance in Oslo.

Awarded the Robert Bosch Fellowship for Young Leaders by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, to work and live in Germany in 2009/2010. The program facilitated visits with power brokers and leaders in major German cities, Brussels, Paris, Warsaw and other locales.

Awarded the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship from the International Center for Journalists in 2008.  Worked for Germany's National Broadcaster Deutsche Welle in Bonn, and concentrated on immigration issues.

Won two 2006 Associated Press Awards; “First Place” Use of Sound; “Second Place” Sports Feature

Won three 2005 SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards; Two “First Place,” and one “Second Place” for radio features

Awarded the first-ever Michael Kirk Award for Broadcast from the University of Idaho in 2005.
